Sɛ mikyinkyin to kwan Ma 'wia kɔtɔ, Sum duru me so na, Me nnae yɛ bo` a, M'adaeso mu mɛbɛn Wo nkyɛn ara, Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara, Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara.

Verse 3

Ky'rɛ me kwam, 'namɔn a Wɔde kɔ s'ro; Nea Wode ma me ny'naa Fi ɔdom mu, Abɔfo frɛ me ba Wo nkyɛn ara Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara, Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara.

Verse 4

Me nyan' fi me nna mu á Meyi` W'ayɛ, Mifi m'aw'rɛhow mu Ma Betel so; Mede 'nigy'na ka sɛ; Wo nkyɛn ara Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara, Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara.

Verse 5

Mede nigye ntaban Tu kɔ wim a, Megyaw 'wia, 'sram, ns'romma Makɔ soro, Mɛto dwom da? aka sɛ Wo nkyɛn ara Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara Nyame Wo nkyɛn ara.

Verse 2

Though like the wanderer, Daylight all gone, Darkness be over me, My rest a stone; Yet in my dreams I'd be Nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer to thee!

Verse 3

There let the way appear, Steps up to heaven; All that Thou sendest me, In mercy given; Angels to beckon me Nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer to Thee!

Verse 4

Then, with my waking thoughts Bright with Thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise; So by my woes to be Nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer to Thee!

Verse 5

Or if, on joyful wing Cleaving the sky, Sun, moon, and stars forgot, Upward I fly, Still all my song shall be, Nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee!
