So tamfo bi nni hɔ ma me? Merensiw haw n'ano? So bɔn' wiase 'I yɛ yɔnko a ɛde m' kɔ Nyame nkyɛn?

Verse 4

'Sɛ sɛ meko na madi hen': 'W'ra, ma me kokod'ru; Mɛfa ɔbrɛ ne yaw no mu B're' a W'asɛm ka me ho.

'Hotefo bewu ko nom' de, Nanso wobedi nim; Wɔde gyidi aniwa no Hu nkonimdi aky'ri.

Sɛ saa da kɛse no du na W'asraafo no ny'naa de Nkonimdi ntade hy'rɛn wim a, 'Nuonyam bɛyɛ wɔn de.

Must I be carried to the skies On flowery beds of ease, While others fought to win the prize, And sailed through bloody seas?

Are there no foes for me to face? Must I not stem the flood? Is this vile world a friend to grace, To help me on to God?

Thy saints in all this glorious war Shall conquer though they die; They see the triumph from afar, By faith they bring it nigh.

When that illustrious day shall rise, And all thy armies shine In robes of victory through the skies, The glory shall be thine.
